This is bound up in other people’s creative projects. What it means in practice is that I’m really good at finding out what’s important about a given subject if you want to make work about it, and gathering the pertinent facts and or images that make something feel real and honest and nuanced. Research runs through everything I do in some way.

Sometimes an outcome is a wiki for game designers to spark off and use as a reference when designing a factual or historically accurate game. Sometimes it’s a series of images that tell a visual story of something that doesn’t exist yet – I often do this for director’s treatments for ads or film. Sometimes it’s being a useful extra brain to check that educational goals are being met or add spice to something that’s currently worthy but dull.
